How to use an external hard drive for iPhone 15 Pro

Apple 15 Pro is equipped with a powerful USB-C port that supports external hard drives, greatly expanding the flexibility of storage and data use. The following is a detailed introduction to its use.
Preparation
Hardware connection:
Transmission cable selection: Use a USB-C transmission cable to connect the iPhone 15 Pro and the external hard drive. If both your iPhone 15 Pro and the external hard drive support USB 3, use a USB-C cable that supports USB 3 to achieve USB 3 data transmission at speeds of up to 10Gbit/s.
Adapter preparation: If the external hard drive is not a USB-C port, you need to prepare the corresponding adapter.
Hard drive format check: The external storage device must have only a single data partition and be formatted as APFS, APFS (encrypted), macOS extended (HFS+), exFAT (FAT64), FAT32, or FAT. If the format does not match, you need to use a Mac or PC to format and adjust it.
Connection steps
Device connection: Plug one end of the USB-C cable into the USB-C port of the Apple 15 Pro, and connect the other end to the external hard drive. Make sure the connection is firm. If you use an adapter, make sure the adapter is connected properly.
Open the File App: Open the built-in “File App” of the iPhone, and switch to the “Browse” page in the bottom menu bar.
View the external hard drive: Under the “Location” option on the “Browse” page, the name of the external hard drive will appear. Click it to enter.
Data access operation
Transfer data from the external hard drive to the mobile phone: After entering the external hard drive, find the photos or files you want to transfer. For example, to transfer photos, click the photo, then click the “Share” button in the lower left corner, select “Save Image”, and the photo will be saved to the mobile phone album; if you transfer files, open the file, click the “Share” button in the lower left corner, select “Save to File”, and set the save location.
Transfer data from mobile phone to external hard drive: Take transferring photos as an example. Select the photos to be transferred in the “Photos App” of the mobile phone, click “Share” > “Save to Files” in the lower left corner, and then select the external hard drive as the storage location. You can easily transfer the photos to the external hard drive.
Through the above steps, you can easily use the Apple 15 Pro external hard drive to achieve efficient data management and storage expansion.
